Authorities are still trying to find out what led to a house fire in Acres Homes last week, according to the Houston Fire Department.
There were no reported injuries in the fire, according to the department, though the department said a dog was found inside the house following a primary search. Crews made an attempt to revive the dog, the department said, but were unable to do so.
Crews from stations 15, 30, 31, 58, and 67 responded to a one-story home in the 900 block of Saint Clair Street in Acres Homes just after 10:30 a.m. on April 17, the department said, to find smoke coming from the house.
After crews made an offensive attack, HFD said crews extinguished the fire. A primary search turned up the dog, after which crews attempted to revive it according to the department.
There has been no official cause of the fire released as of Tuesday, according to HFD, though the department said arson investigators are working to find out what may have led to the blaze breaking out.
