Houston police said they are looking into a single-car crash near the area that left the driver dead earlier this month.

The driver, 56-year-old Norberto Pina, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said a passerby saw Pina’s Volkswagen Jetta on fire and crashed into a tree at 7500 T.C. Jester Blvd. in the Inwood Pines neighborhood around 1:15 a.m. April 7. According to police, it remains unclear what direction Pina was going when the crash occurred.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact HPD’s Vehicular Crimes division at 713-247-4072.
