Houston police are looking into an area shooting that left a man hospitalized last weekend.

The victim, 22-year-old Juan Soto, was taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said Soto was sitting in his car at the Fuel Expo Super Mark gas station at 857 W. Tidwell Rd. just before 9 p.m. last Saturday, Feb. 6 when an unknown black male came up to him, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots toward the car during an altercation. One shot struck Soto in the left shoulder, police said, before he managed to drive away and call 9-1-1.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.

This sort of crime is up exponentially, yet our local city council representative, who is chair of the Public Safety Committee appears not to be phased by it.
