Houston police say they are investigating the cause of a single-car crash off U.S. 290 last week that left the driver dead.

The victim, 38-year-old Christrian Nefta Flores Veliz, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to to police. The Houston Police Department said there were no other motorists or cars involved in the crash.

Police said the victim was driving southbound at 10700 Northwest Fwy. around 12:20 a.m. July 17 when he crashed into a divider between the main lanes of 290 and the exit ramp to the I-10 flyover.

HPD said an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
