A man accused of stabbing his brother at a Greater Inwood apartment complex has been arrested, according to police.

Christopher Swopes, 44, has been charged with aggravated assault of a family member in connection to the stabbing, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police at about 11:30 a.m. last Wednesday responded to a disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 5300 block of West Gulf Bank Road, according to police.

Investigators learned Swopes had allegedly been arguing with his brother, Jarvis Steen, 23, and that Swopes allegedly stabbed his brother multiple times before fleeing the scene, police said. He was arrested a short time later, according to police.

Steen was taken to a hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.
