Houston police say a man who was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash earlier this month has died.

The identity of the victim, a 60-year-old man, according to the Houston Police Department, is pending confirmation by the county’s medical examiner. He died last Sunday, according to police.

HPD said the man was struck by a vehicle around 7:15 p.m. Oct. 6 while walking on the feeder road at 2900 Northwest Fwy. The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old man, told police the victim was walking in the middle of the street, according to HPD. Police said the driver told investigators he changed lanes and tried to hit the brakes, but still hit the victim and knocked him down.

The driver was questioned at the scene and released, police said, and no criminal charges have been filed in the incident.
