Houston police are investigating an incident that led to a man being stabbed near Greater Inwood last last month.

The victim, 20-year-old Michael King, was taken to an area hospital, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, King was meeting with a friend who owed him money at 5800 Village Forest Ct. just before 2:30 p.m. Feb. 27. HPD said that when King and a witness saw the friend and pulled their car over to him, he reached into the car and stabbed King multiple times while taking his money.

After the witness knocked the knife out of the suspect’s hands, police said the man fled the scene on foot.

HPD said in a March 2 news release it did not have available descriptive information about the suspect and the department would follow up on leads pertaining to his identity. An HPD spokesperson did not respond to a request made Tuesday for updated information.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
