Houston police say they are investigating a fatal car crash near Langwood last week.

The identity of the victim, a 27-year-old woman, according to the Houston Police Department, is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Four other victims were taken to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

HPD said the driver of a Honda Accord was heading south at 11800 Hempstead Rd. just after 11 p.m. Oct. 14 before turning left, crossing over the center line into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with a Toyota Camry that was heading south on Hempstead. The victim, who was driving the Toyota, was later pronounced dead at the Texas Medical Center, police said.

The Honda’s driver was uninjured, according to police, and no charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation.
