Houston police say they are looking for a man accused of shooting a father and son near the Northside Village neighborhood earlier this month.

The Houston Police Department said 31-year-old Frank Barrera has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon in connection to the shooting of 33-year-old Jorge Elizondo and his 15-year-old son on April 2.

Officers responded to a shooting call at 4707 Siegel St. on April 2, police said, where they learned that Barrera and Elizondo allegedly got into an argument over a woman they had both dated. HPD said that during the argument, Barrera allegedly pulled out a gun and fired shots into the crowd -- striking Elizondo and his son –- before fleeing the scene.

Elizondo and his son were transported to a hospital and were expected to survive their wounds, according to HPD.

Anyone with information on Barrera’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
