A teenage boy was critically injured in a shooting outside a fast-food restaurant near Acres Homes last weekend.

The victim, a 17-year-old, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said officers responded to the Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen at 505 W. Little York Rd. just before 4:30 p.m. last Sunday, April 5 to find the teenager with multiple gunshot wounds to his face and upper chest. According to police, a preliminary investigation indicated he was a passenger in a car driving near the restaurant.

Police said the witness, who was driving, told investigators a Black male wearing all-black clothing came up to their vehicle at a nearby intersection in a charcoal gray SUV and shot toward the car.

Anyone with information in the incident is encouraged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
