Houston police say they are looking into a shooting incident at a graduation party near the Northside area that put three teenagers in the hospital last weekend.

The Houston Police Department said 18-year-old Kaliegh Smith, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

HPD said the two 16-year-olds were attending a graduation party at MYE Place Banquet and Event Hall at 461 W. Parker Rd. around 11:40 p.m. last Sunday when the boy got into an argument with another male who then fired a gun once, scattering the crowd and hitting the boy and girl.

Smith had just arrived and parked across the street, police said, when party attendees began running out of the banquet hall. Two people began shooting in the parking lot, with bullets striking Smith in the wrist and thigh, according to police.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact HPD’s Major Assaults & Family Violence division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
