Jellyfish Sushi serving up fresh delicacies

Jellyfish Sushi

Jellyfish Sushi - located on the corner of Ella Blvd and W 34th street, is a unique dining spot that prides itself on serving reasonably-priced cuts of fish and creative sushi rolls. This Japanese restaurant is in the same shopping center with local favorites such as Shipley Do-Nuts and The Union Kitchen.

Opened in December 2019, Jellyfish Sushi had to quickly transition from a dine-in to a take-out only restaurant in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently the restaurant is back open for dine-in as well as take-out service while taking COVID-19 precautions seriously.

With its approachable menu and relaxed casual atmosphere, the restaurant is quickly becoming a local favorite. It is still BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer), as the restaurant is still waiting on their liquor license.

“Once we have our alcohol license, we will serve domestic and imported Japanese beers, wine and various Japanese sakes,” says one of the managers at Jellyfish Sushi.

Among Jellyfish’s most popular specialty rolls are the Citrus Hamachi roll (which features shrimp tempura, salmon, yellowtail, kimchee ponzu, cilantro and purple onion),  – and the Be_Someone roll, which has salmon and avocado on top along with spicy tuna, cucumber, spicy mayo, fried garlic and micro greens on the inside.

For non-raw options, the restaurant offers an variety of hibachi grilled dishes such as hibachi chicken, teriyaki chicken, hibachi steak along with a few other combinations.  Each hibachi entrees comes with a house ginger salad, onion soup and steam rice.  Another popular dish is the Shrimp-Lime Cilantro Soba, which is Japanese stir fry noodles with yuzu butter sauce.

For catering and large orders, Jellyfish also offers a multitude of large sushi, hibachi and appetizer party trays. Please visit their website for more information.
