Area residents wanting to spoil their pooches with treats now have a new option available in the local neighborhood.

Last Saturday, The Doggie Express held a grand opening in Garden Oaks at 1234 W. 34th St. in Garden Oaks, according to a news release from the bakery.

The Doggie Express menu features organic, gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free and hand-decorated treats, the release said, from hand-decorated cookies and Bones Day cakes to “woofins,” “pup cakes,” meaty chews and ice cream.

“We didn’t just want healthy treats,” founder and owner Kelly Long said in the release. “The treats also needed to taste delicious and be whimsical, and I think we got it right.”

The shop will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to its website. In addition to the retail shop, the shop also has a dog park with space for parties and rescue adoption events.
