A marketing flyer from Braun Enterprises is promoting a “new redevelopment coming soon to the entrance of Oak Forest” at 2740 W. T.C. Jester Blvd. That is the retail center that includes Juanita's Mexican Restaurant, Supreme Sandwiches and, until a few years ago, the Solid Platinum Gentleman’s Club.

The flyer said the two-building project is “nestled between Oak Forest to the north, and Timbergrove/Lazybrook to the south. The surrounding neighborhoods have quickly become hot neighborhoods for young professionals with families not looking to stray far from the ‘inner loop.’ ”

Building 1 is the segment of the center running parallel to Ramus Street, and Building 2 contains the former Solid Platinum and Juanita's.

The flyer indicates that Juanita's, Supreme Sandwiches and the dry cleaners are leasing on a month-to-month basis, with other spaces becoming available between now and December 2022.

CXRE, which had the property listed for sale, said in a listing that it was in “average” condition and that the estimated rental income from the property over the last year was projected to be $136,300.

La Calle Tacos moving in on Ella

Revive’s Monica Danna announced that it has signed a lease with La Calle Tacos for its last available space at Ella Boulevard and West 34th Street. The address is 3323 Ella Blvd., where RJ's Boot Shop used to be.

“We are thrilled to have this well-known taco spot in Oak Forest,” Danna said.

La Calle Tacos, a fast-casual Mexican concept specializing in food from Mexico City, already has locations downtown at 909 Franklin St. and in Midtown at 401 Gray St.

“We are also very excited with this new project,” La Calle’s Fernando Villegas said.

Previously, the owners of La Mexicana in Montrose were going to open a second location of the restaurant, called La Mex, at 3323 Ella. Zulema Gonzales said they made the decision not to proceed during the COVID-19 shutdown last summer when their main concern was to keep the original restaurant going.

“We do hope to be able to work with Revive again in the future," Gonzales said. "All doors were left open amicably.”

Space remaining at Shepherd Row

The current tenants at 1002-1028 N. Shepherd Dr. include Crawfish Café, Lornhorn Liquor, Metro PCS, La Fondita Michoacan and Cozy Nail Lounge.

A marketing flyer for the property from Braun Enterprises lists three available spaces for lease, all about 2,000 square feet, including the spot La Fondita Michoacan currently occupies.

Restaurant spaces available in Washington Heights

Streetwise Retail lists two second-generation restaurant spaces for lease at I-10 and Yale Street/Heights Boulevard.

A 1,750 square foot space is available on Heights Boulevard next to Salata. The other is a 2,551 square foot space on Yale next to Luna Pizzeria.

Ground lease offered for 1015 W. 19th St.

Streetwise also has a flyer in circulation regarding a 2,827 square foot redevelopment opportunity for ground lease at 1015 W. 19th St. It was formerly a used car lot.

The flyer says the property offers a “creative opportunity for gardens, grills, cafe's, lounges or club” and has “large parking capacity.”
