One of the most iconic Victorian homes in the Heights, the “Castle House” at 1802 Harvard St., has had a new owner for the last year-and-a-half. John and Jan Greer have been updating the grounds on the property and are installing a new rain garden in the ditch along 18th Street, which drew complaints to the city from at least one neighbor. But the city is OK with the Greer’s plan, which aims to further beautify the property while protecting against flooding.

Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Houston City Council postponed a scheduled vote Wednesday on proposed rate increases that would affect residential water and wastewater customers across the city. Turner said he wants residents to have more time to be made aware of the issue and provide feedback.
