Some residents of the Montie Beach neighborhood have growing concerns Main Street Tap & Grill, 4002 N. Main St., which since opening in late 2019 has had nearly 200 noise complaints filed against it with the Houston Police Department. There also have been incidents of violence at the Heights-area restaurant and bar.

The Houston City Council on Wednesday voted to increase rates for residential water and wastewater services, effective Sept. 1. The original plan called for a July 1 implementation. The city council also gave itself the option to reduce the rates at some point in the future if other funding sources for infrastructure become available.
Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Houston City Council postponed a scheduled vote Wednesday on proposed rate increases that would affect residential water and wastewater customers across the city. Turner said he wants residents to have more time to be made aware of the issue and provide feedback.
